The Given Over

Patience hides
Longing & grieving
As the mob cries
For a king
For a lord
A messiah
Of sorts
An idol
A savior
A ruler of courts

Submit they will
Blind to abuse
An utopian thrill
The ultimate excuse

A god they can see
A god they can hear
A god they can touch
A god they will fear

One who pens his decree
He promises much

His Creator they dismiss
Who is greater than he
His signet they kiss
sealing fate...let it be
